We love Kidsland Berkeley! We have three daughters: 9 year old twins and a three year old. We feel so lucky that all three have received all the love and care Mara and Tey provide. They are the most loving teachers and build community with families to make all that attend feel welcome and part of a family. They take the time and effort to not only know each child, but also family dynamics and home contexts. Mara and Tey go above and beyond childcare by providing home cooked delicious and extremely nutritious meals (all of my girls LOVE broccoli because of them). They also plan exciting and engaging activities in their home daycare environment and have a van to take kids on field trips all over the Bay. They also arrange regular yoga, gymnastics, and martial arts classes for the kids to take during their time there. Their new space is also beautiful, with a backyard full of planters boxes and tree swings and play structures!

Our two girls spent years under the care of the Kidsland Berkeley family, and we really felt like family. When we would visit them or they would visit us, it was like going to see our aunties, cousins, etc. Obviously, the excellent language immersion is a huge plus and was the main reason we enrolled at first. But, we got something unexpected that we now value more than that. Love. To this day, years later, the girls still consider love in almost every interaction with people, and I attribute that to Mara, Tey, and Victoria. It is at the center of their spirit, and we (not just the kids) all were made better people for it. If you are lucky enough to get a place in the care of these wonderful, strong, loving women, I envy what the coming years hold for you.

My rave about Kidsland Family Daycare goes deep: they are three generations of strong women who together support, nurture and educate your whole child. If you are looking for a community of families bonded over Spanish and English bilingual language development, safety around town to local farms, classes, playgrounds and museums, healthy eating, personal responsibility for the youngers in any group, kinder readiness and FUN!. . . then Kidsland is the place for you. They host gatherings so the children and the parents come to know and love each other through all the stages of life families experience during toddlerhood. We grieved, celebrated, researched and commemorated at gatherings they hosted just as we did at informal times during pick up and drop off.
What a time we had!

Mara, Tey and their wonderful team provided a uniquely warm and nurturing experience for our two boys for many years. We were sad to eventually say goodbye, and we couldn’t recommend the experience more highly!
